Moon Bay Weather data and images are captured from a private island in Moon Bay, on the eastern coast of Georgian Bay, near Sans Souci, ON. The image below shows the surrounding area. Wind speed is captured using an InSpeed anemometer. It is monitored by a Raspberry Pi. Weather data is uploaded to a DynamoDB database. Images are captured using an outdoor IP camera and sent to Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 from the same Raspberry PI and then dynamically loaded by this website.
The website is static. The web page is served directly from AWS S3. The web page was designed using Bootstrap and Highcharts. Government of Canada weather data is scraped from their website on a regular basis.
